|| the return of the barefoot intern ||

has it really been a whole year?

nothing’s really changed, anyhow.
i mean, sure, the music is different. (last summer it was derek webb and collective soul.)
and the richmond is a few hundred miles away from atlanta.
and this year, the baptist powers-that-be are sending me to ecuador intstead of wartburg. (a tragedy, i know.)

i think i like this summer.

so far, i’ve spent my days driving on broad street
(and frequenting starbucks)
with no ac and no power steering
my windows rolled down
jack johnson or r.e.m. turned up way too loud.

and driving in my geo metro, i sing (!!!).
i’m loud and off-key.
but richmond boys are a funny sort (the old men, too).
they smile at me, and it makes me laugh like crazy.
it’s absolutely wonderful. (the singing, and the
laughinglikecrazy for no reason at all–  not the  richmond
boys.)

and then, i spent a good 20 minutes at work searching for mr. muholland in the photo archives.

while i was singing along:

if i ever want to fly

mulholland drive

i am alive

a missing l can make all the difference, you know.

post scriptum
i have a new computer.
but not just any computer.
this computer.

according to scott, it doesn’t get any sexier thana redhead with a powerbook.
he wants me for my ram.

if i ever want to fly

mulholland drive

i am alive

indeed. i am alive.
